Throughout the years, I have explored abstract patterns and experimented with layering of geometric designs. This summer, after visiting the stunning mosaics of Gaudi’s Guell Park in Barcelona, it was time for me to make my own mosaics.

Upon my return I set to work, and developed the work ethic and craftmanship required to bring each project to successful completion. It began as a hobby using broken dinner plates, handed to me by friends and neighbours, but soon spilled over into the back yard and onto the wall of my garage. I found myself frequenting local thrift stores in pursuit of brightly coloured patterns. Strangers started leaving boxes at my front door filled with broken dinnerware and leftover tiles. With plenty of material at hand, when I am not making watercolours, I am dedicated to making mosaics.

It has made the newspaper!
